gus is into checkers, now, and tavli (backgammon). he’s not “good” at either, but for a three year old, he has a really good attention span. he’ll play the games the entire way through, several times in a row, in fact, if you will let him. i hate checkers, i always have, but i like playing backgammon with him. and i like how happy it makes him to play board games. we were rolling the dice and counting our spaces to move or tavli pieces and he said, “oh! this is like chutes and ladders!” ha, close enough, i suppose.
